Governmnet of India made it exclusive and mandatory to link Aadhaar cards with mobile numbers to help secure and add an extra wall of security. Forgery of identity cards is a widespread problem in India, with fraudsters misusing it for their illegal gains. One of the burning issue of such activity is “Creating multiple identity cards for personal gain”.

To tackle this issue, the government has mandated linking Aadhaar card with Jio numbers to eliminate counterfeit identity card programs. Citizens with multiple Jio numbers, whether prepaid or postpaid or availing broadband services, must link all their numbers to their Aadhaar card to continue using the services. This process will help identify and deactivate fake numbers, and it is relatively easy to complete.

Link Your Aadhaar With Jio Mobile Number at Jio Store

To link your Jio number with your Aadhaar card offline, you can follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Visit the nearest Jio store.

Step 2: Provide your Jio number and a self-attested copy of your Aadhaar card to the store executive.

Step 3: You will receive an OTP on your email.

Step 4: Share this OTP with the store executive.

Step 5: You will also need to provide your biometrics.

Step 6: Jio will send a confirmation message to your mobile number.

Step 7: Reply with a 'Y' to the SMS to complete the connection process.

Link Your Aadhaar Card with Jio Number via OTP

To link your Jio number with your Aadhaar card using the OTP method, follow these simple steps. Please note that this option is only available if your number is already registered with UIDAI. Here are the steps to follow:

• Step 1: Dial the Toll-Free number 14546 from your Jio mobile number.
• Step 2: Choose whether you are an Indian citizen or a non-resident Indian.
• Step 3: Press 1 to give your telecom operator permission to re-verify your Aadhaar.
• Step 4: Enter and validate your Aadhaar number.
• Step 5: You will receive an OTP on your mobile number.
• Step 6: Allow the service provider to access your Name, Photograph, and Date Of Birth from UIDAI.
• Step 7: The IVR will display the last four digits of your phone number.
• Step 8: Enter the OTP if the numbers spoken out are valid.
• Step 9: If you have multiple Jio mobile numbers to link to your Aadhaar, press '0' on your mobile phone. Alternatively, press option '1' to allow Jio to proceed with the Aadhaar verification procedure.
• Step 10: Your request will be approved.
• Step 11: You will receive a notification SMS within 24 hours verifying that your Aadhaar has been linked to your Jio number.

Link Aadhaar with Jio Using IVR

IVR is an alternative method to connect your Aadhaar card with your Jio mobile number. Please be aware that this option is available only if your number is already registered with UIDAI. The following are the steps to link your Aadhaar card with your Jio mobile number:

• Step 1: Dial the Toll-Free number 14546 from the Jio mobile number you wish to link with Aadhaar
• Step 2: Choose your preferred language
• Step 3: Enter and confirm your 12-digit Aadhaar number
• Step 4: An OTP will be sent to your mobile number for verification
• Step 5: Enter the OTP when prompted by the IVR System
• Step 6: You will receive an SMS within 24 hours confirming the successful linking of your Aadhaar card with your Jio number

Please note that this option is only available for numbers already registered with UIDAI.
